ABOUT

Lisa Zirbel is a feminist artist who makes work that is deeply connected to the landscape. She works across a number of mediums including photography, printmaking, and sculpture. Zirbel began her connection to the land in Wyoming where she earned a BFA along with minors in Museum Studies and Anthropology. From the University of Wyoming she also completed a Post-Baccalaureate before attaining an MFA in Photography from Arizona State University. Her work has has been shown in over forty exhibitions, both nationally and internationally. She has received awards such as the Maggie Murdock Award for Social Justice, the Theime Endowment, and the Teaching Excellence Award. Zirbel also has a passion for local and grassroots arts advocacy such as pop-up exhibitions, city art programs, creative spaces, workshops, and conferences.
